  1. How true, we all have something we’re struggling with. I can see how it would benefit everyone if we could learn to reach out and show empathy. Now that I am starting to resurface after such a bad funk, I wish someone would have reached out and shown me how I was contributing to my own depression.
    However, I do think there are times when you still need to let someone go because they are seriously toxic to your own mental health. Similar to when a drug addict has to stop hanging out with their addict friends to get clean, sometimes people just aren’t good for you to be around.
    I got that you were getting at something completely different here though. Refusing to forgive someone who is clearly starting over does no good. People change. If they are willing to take responsibility and agree on how your relationship will be structured in the future, it does the soul good to show some compassion and support. Thanks for the reminder.
